Dobie Earns NEC Rookie Honor for Second Time

Antawn Dobie, a sophomore on the LIU men's basketball team, earned his second Northeast Conference Rookie-of-the-Week award in the last three weeks following his 21-point outing against Colgate on Dec. 6.

In only his first year as a Blackbird, Dobie is currently the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 14.0 points and he is also dishing out a team-best 4.2 assists per game.

Dobie has led the Blackbirds to consecutive victories over Colgate and New Haven (Dec. 13). In the New Haven game, the 6'0" point guard from Corona, NY, netted 18 points and handed out seven assists.

Now shooting 50 percent from the field, Dobie is leading the team, averaging 32.8 minutes of play per game.
