Parker Receives Honor - (Feb. 23, 1999)


Brooklyn, NY - For the second time in his three years on the Brooklyn Campus, Richie Parker was named all-NEC second team in a vote by league coaches.

Currently leading the team and ranking seventh in the NEC scoring race with 15.2 ppg, Parker has moved into 10th place on tha all-time LIU scoring list with 1,355. He is on a pace that would eclipse the all-time mark of 1,830 points set by Joe Griffin during the 1994-95 season.

The last time Parker received the honor was as a freshman in '96-97 when he averaged 16.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest. For his efforts, he was alos selected conference Newcomer of the Year.
