Blackbirds Compete at ECAC's, IC4A's

The Blackbirds closed out their 1999 outdoor season at ECAC's and IC4A's at George Mason University from May 21-23.

Freshman Kishwayne Virgo was LIU's top male finisher, coming in 14th place in preliminaries at 100m in a time of 10.86 against the nation's best. Virgo was also a member of the 4x100m relay team that finished in 12th place in a time of 41.82, ahead of West Virginia, Rider, Princeton and Rutgers.

On the women's side, 13-time Northeast Coknference champion, Fateen Abdel-Baaith ended her '99 campaign with a 15th-place finish in prelims at 200m in a time of 24.82. Shot putter, Beth Lawrence placed 22nd with a toss of 11.75m.
