Women's Basketball inks Santa Fe, NM guard

Long Island has announced the signing of Sonrisa Garcia to a National Letter of Intent. Second-year head coach Patty Delehanty adds Garcia to a list of eight newcomers for the 1999-2000 season.

Garcia played four years of basketball at Pojoaque High School, where she established a 103-5 record, including a 28-0 state title run as a junior. She led the team to four state semifinal appearances and three title games.

A native of Santa Fe, NM, Garcia was named to the New Mexico First-Team three times, as well as being a four time All-2AAAA selection. Garcia was also a Albuquerque Journal First-Team All-North member her sophomore and junior seasons.
