Patterson and Camilla Harris capture individual titles at NEC Championships

Juniors Sakinah Patterson
and Camilla Harris took home individual titles in the women's 800
meter run and the women's long jump, respectively, this weekend
at the Northeast Conference Championships in Landover, MD.
Patterson (Staten Island,
NY) cruised to victory with a time of 2:15.09, almost two seconds
better than her closest competitor. She also continued her stellar
performance with a silver medal in the one mile run (5:12.93).
Harris (Pine Hill, NJ)
also enjoyed a rather easy victory with a leap of 18' 5", winning
by eight inches. Sophomore Kemelia Campbell (Jackson, NJ) took third
with a jump of 17' 4.25".
Harris also took third
place in the women's 60 meter dash with a time of 7.94 seconds.
Sophomore Kishwayne Virgo
(Plainfield, NJ) captured second place in the men's 60 meter dash
with a time of 6.98 seconds. Sophomore Louis Smith (Burlington,
NJ) took the silver medal in the men's long jump with a leap of
23' 2.5".
The men's 4x400 meter
relay team brought home third place with a time of 3:21.98.
The women captured fourth
place with 64 points and the men took eighth place with 39 points.
