#12 Michelle Halligan

Freshman, 5-5, Guard, Havertown, PA
Archbishop Prendergast

Notes: A winning player with a winning attitude... Is one of two freshmen for the Blackbirds... Her strong prep career with nationally recognized teams will prove to be extremely valuable... Will see extensive playing time off the bench as both the point guard and the shooting guard... A tenacious player who gives the Blackbirds many intangibles... Has a keen understanding of how an offense should be run... Possesses a great outside shot and also is a gritty and tough player with her willingness to dive on the floor for loose balls... The lone Pennsylvania native on the team this season.

High School: Excelled at Archbishop Prendergast H.S., where she averaged 12.0 points, 5.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game last season... Led the team to its first Philadelphia Catholic League title in 16 years with a victory over Cardinal O’Hara in 2001... Named second-team All-Catholic League and second-team All-Delaware County as a senior... Was tabbed Honorable Mention All-Delaware County as a junior... Won the junior national championship as point guard for the AAU’s Philadelphia Belles... Averaged 13.0 points per game in AAU competition... Netted 10 points in last season’s Philadelphia All-Star Labor Classic. Her squad, the city team, poured in a game-record 103 points against the suburbs team... Was named to the National Honor Society her senior year.
