Maynard Named Akadema Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Week

4/10/06 -- Junior Mike Maynard (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named Akadema Northeast Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 10.

Maynard picked up his first win of the season over Central Connecticut State on Sunday afternoon. In the first game of the doubleheader, the right-hander allowed just two hits over seven innings as the Blue Devils did not advance a baserunner past second base the entire game.

On the year, Maynard leads the Blackbirds in ERA at 4.66 and also paces the squad with 29 strikeouts.

The LIU baseball team returns to action on Tuesday, April 11 at NYIT at 3:30 p.m.
