Olson Named First Team All-NEC

5/19/05 – Junior third baseman Nate Olson (Poland, Maine) was selected first team All-Northeast Conference today based on a vote by the league’s coaches.

Olson made an immediate impact at third base after transferring from Central Maine Community College, finishing third for LIU with a .301 batting average. He also was tied for fourth on the team with 16 RBI and third with six stolen bases over 28 contests. Olson closed the season on a tear, hitting .406 (13-for-32) with seven RBI over his last 10 games and notched a hit in eight of those contests.

LIU ended the campaign 13-25 overall and 9-15 in the conference.
