Women’s Golf Places Third at ECAC Championships

 

10/24/05 -- Freshman Natalie Desjardins (Haileybury, Ontario) finished in a tie for second individually, pacing the Long Island University women’s golf team to third place overall at the East Coast Athletic Conference Championships in Falmouth, Mass. this weekend.

Desjardins shot a second-round 79 to finish one shot off the pace. Her final round performance tied her for the low round of the tournament with individual champion Ali Bode of Harvard.

Rochelle Brown (Calgary, Alberta) recorded a top-ten finish, tying for tenth at 174. Senior Erica Chong (Hilo, Hawaii), in her first tournament of the season, notched back-to-back rounds of 92 to end in a tie for 25th.

Harvard took the team title going away, finishing 55 strokes ahead of the University of Hartford to take the championship.

The women’s golf team finishes its fall season Nov. 6-8 at the Virginia Beach Intercollegiate in Virginia Beach, Va.
