Women's Golf Competes In Bonnie Hoover Invitational

 

4/10/06 -- Long Island University took part in the Bonnie Hoover Invitational over the weekend. The event was hosted by James Madison University and was played at Lakeview Golf Course in Harrisonburg, Va.

Sophomore Heather Pothier (Truro, Nova Scotia) was the top finisher for the Blackbirds, ending tied for 41st. Pothier and freshmen Natalie Desjardins (Haileybury, Ontario) and Emma Lister (Manchester, England) each tied for team-best round honors at 81. Desjardins shot her low round on the first day while both Lister and Pothier fired their rounds on day two.

Penn State won the team portion of the tournament, ending two shots in front of Georgetown at 305. Nicole Hayashi of Georgetown edged Erika Oldenkamp of William & Mary by one shot to take the individual crown.

LIU women's golf is back in action on April 28-30 for the Northeast Conference Championships. The year-end event will take place at Lake Buena Vista Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.
