3/8/06 -- Freshman Natalie Desjardins (Haileybury, Ontario) recorded her third top-10 finish of the season as she finished in a tie for eighth at the Fighting Camel Spring Classic in Buies Creek, N.C. this weekend.

Desjardins carded rounds of 79-80-78 to finish tied with UNC-Greensboro's Lacy Miller. Her final-round 78 tied her for the third best round of the day. She also had six birdies over the two-day span, good for third in the tournament.

Classmate Emma Lister (Manchester, England) was the next best finisher for the Blackbirds as she carded 82-80 over her final two rounds.

LIU finished in 10th place as a team, five shots behind ninth-place Kennesaw State. Georgetown won the team championship and was led by individual winner Chelsea Curtis, who used back-to-back even-par 72's to help her capture the title.

The women's golf team continues its spring season at the Fairfield Spring Invitational on Mar. 12-14 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
