Freshman Natalie Desjardins (Haileybury, Ontario) recorded her third top-10 finish
of the season as she finished in a tie for eighth at the
Fighting Camel Spring Classic in Buies Creek, N.C. this weekend.
Desjardins carded
rounds of 79-80-78 to finish tied with UNC-Greensboro's Lacy
Miller. Her final-round 78 tied her for the third best round
of the day. She also had six birdies over the two-day span,
good for third in the tournament.
Classmate Emma Lister
(Manchester, England) was the next best finisher for the Blackbirds
as she carded 82-80 over her final two rounds.
LIU finished in
10th place as a team, five shots behind ninth-place Kennesaw
State. Georgetown won the team championship and was led by
individual winner Chelsea Curtis, who used back-to-back even-par
72's to help her capture the title.
The women's golf
team continues its spring season at the Fairfield Spring Invitational
on Mar. 12-14 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
