Patrick Kelly (Brisbane, Australia) fired an even-par 140 over
two rounds to finish in second place at the NBT Bank Classic,
hosted by Binghamton University, over the weekend. Kelly fired an opening-round
68 in the first round and closed with a two-over-par 72 to
finish three strokes behind medalist Ryan Swanson of St. Bonaventure.
The Australian
led the field in par-four scoring with a stroke average
of 3.75 and an overall score of five-under par. The
senior also led the competition in birdies with nine, two
more than the next best player. As a team, the Blackbirds
finished in seventh place, one shot behind Northeast Conference
rival Quinnipiac, at 610. St. Bonaventure shot a tournament-best
281 on the final day to overcome an eight-stroke deficit and
win the team competition.
