(Final Results)

4/30/06 -- Long Island University women's golf team fired a final-round 319, a tournament-low, but it was not enough as St. Francis (Pa.) won the Northeast Conference Championships by two strokes on Sunday afternoon in Orlando, Fla.

Junior Erica Chong (Hilo, Hawaii) finished third individually to earn all-conference honors. Freshman Natalie Desjardins (Haileybury, Ontario) joined Chong on the all-league squad with a final-round 74 to finish in a tie for fifth. The top ten finishers plus ties were named to the All-Northeast Conference team.

Sophomore Samantha Milosh shot a tournament-record 69 to lead the Red Flash to their fourth NEC championship in five years. Milosh also won the individual competition by two strokes over Rae Johnson of Monmouth. The previous low-round record was held by former Blackbird Shauna Wilde, who shot a career-low 73 in the first round of the 2005 tournament.

Sophomore Heather Pothier (Truro, Nova Scotia) narrowly missed all-conference accolades by one stroke as she finished tied for 12th at 168. Freshmen Emma Lister (Manchester, England) and Rochelle Brown (Calgary, Alberta) ended in 23rd and 28th, respectively.
