Women's Golf Kicks Off Fall Season at Princeton Women's Invitational

9/25/06 -- Junior Heather Pothier (Truro, Nova Scotia) shot a final-round 78 to finish in a tie for 16th as the Long Island University women's golf team opened up its 2006-07 season at the Princeton Invitational over the weekend.

As a team, the Blackbirds finished in eighth place at 676. Long Island was the top Northeast Conference school at the event, besting Sacred Heart, Wagner and Fairleigh Dickinson.

Sophomores Natalie Desjardins (Haileybury, Ontario) and Emma Lister (Manchester, England) each finished at 170 for a share of 37th place.

LIU continues its season at the ECAC Championships on Oct. 6-8.
