Kelly Finishes Seventh at Drew Upton Classic

 

4/3/06 -- Junior Patrick Kelly (Brisbane, Australia) fired an even-par 72 to finish tied for seventh place at one-under-par 143 at the Drew Upton Towson Golf Classic in Salisbury, Md.

The top-ten was Kelly's second as a Blackbird and was his second-best finish of the season. He tied for fourth at the Leo Keenan Invitational in Olean, N.Y. on Oct. 2-3 this fall.

LIU shaved seven shots off of its first-round total, tying with Brown University at 302 on the day. Andrew Turner of Liberty shot a final-round 66 to edge Army's Austin Luher for the individual crown by a single shot at six-under-par 138.

The University of Richmond won the team portion, taking the title by five strokes over Western Kentucky at 576.

The men's golf team continues its spring schedule at the Cape May Invitational on April 16-18 in Cape May, N.J.
