Men's and Women's Golf Open Spring Season at Bethune-Cookman Invitational

2/27/05 -- Seniors Shauna Wilde (Mississauga, Ontario) and Tracey Chew (Sacramento, Calif.) each finished tied for 12th place for Long Island at the Bethune-Cookman Invitational in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Wilde and Chew each carded 81 to close nine shots off the pace set by Sara McFadden of Charleston Southern. Veronica Lopes (Mississauga, Ontario) shot 89, fellow senior Amy Kitchen (Staten Island, N.Y.) fired 91 and sophomore Erica Chong (Hilo, Hawaii) had 95.

The men's squad was paced by senior Mike Munoz (Yucaipa, Calif.), who closed tied for 30th with 79. Senior Ryan Heller (New Hartford, Conn.) finished 39th with 81 in his first LIU match, Brad Corcoran (Mississauga, Ontario) shot 82 and fellow senior Kevin Allo (San Bernardino, Calif.) shot 87.

Both teams will be in action March 7-8 at the Fairfield Spring Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
