Women's Golf Takes Part at the Hoya Invitational

4/2/05 -- Seniors Veronica Lopes (Mississauga, Ontario) and Amy Kitchen (Staten Island, N.Y.) each shot 89 for Long Island at the rain-shortened Hoya Invitational in Reston, Va.

Lopes and Kitchen closed tied for 26th place, helping the Blackbirds shoot 366. The tournament, originally scheduled for 36 holes, was cut to a one-day event.

Senior Shauna Wilde (Mississauga, Ontario) was tied for 32nd with 90.

LIU is in action Monday and Tuesday at the Hofstra Invitational in Hempstead, N.Y.
