Women's Golf Falls in Dual-Match at Monmouth

4/22/05 -- In its first event as the reigning Northeast Conference champion, Long Island was detitle a two-shot loss to league-foe Monmouth in Lakewood, N.J.

Tracey Chew (Sacramento, Calif.) carded 81 with fellow seniors Shauna Wilde (Mississauga, Ontario) and Veronica Lopes (Mississauga, Ontario) shooting 82.

Sophomore Erica Chong (Hilo, Hawaii) shot 85 and senior Amy Kitchen (Staten Island, N.Y.) closed with 91 for the Blackbirds, who finished with 330 to the Hawks' 328.

LIU will be in action May 5-7 in the Central Region of the NCAA Championship in Lubbock, Texas. The squad punched its ticket April 17 after winning its first league title.
