Brad Corcoran Tied for Third Place After Opening Round at NEC Championship; Men's Golf Tied for First

5/2/05 -- Senior Brad Corcoran (Mississauga, Ontario) shot 75 and is tied for third place after the opening round for Long Island, which is tied atop the leader board at the Northeast Conference Championship in Midway, Pa.

Corcoran continued his red-hot tear, lowering his average to 76.7 over his last nine rounds. He is just three shots in back of Anthony Campanile of Monmouth for first and two in back of Quinnipiac's Craig Cyr for second.

Kevin Allo (San Bernardino, Calif.) is tied for seventh with 77, fellow senior Sean Donnelly (Brampton, Ontario) is tied for 11th with 78 and senior Mike Munoz (Yucaipa, Calif.) is tied for 16th with 79.

That has the Blackbirds, the reigning NEC champions, tied with Monmouth for first with 309. Central Connecticut State is third with 311, followed by Quinnipiac at 317.

The final round takes place Tuesday, also at QuickSilver Golf Club.
