5/3/05 -- Long
Island University and senior Brad Corcoran (Mississauga,
Ontario) each closed tied for second place at the Northeast
Conference Men’s
Golf Championship at QuickSilver Golf Club in Midway, Pa.
LIU entered the day tied for first with Monmouth, but could
not repeat as NEC champions as the field battled the cold elements
a second straight day. The Blackbirds shot 313 for a two-day
total of 622 to tie Monmouth, each falling seven shots behind
Central Connecticut State.
Corcoran carded 75 for the second straight day to finish with
150, just one shot behind Anthony Campanile of Monmouth and tied
with Damien Mackman of Robert Morris. The finish was good enough
for Corcoran to make the all-conference team a second time after
closing sixth last year.
Senior Kevin Allo (San Bernardino,
Calif.) shot 77 a second straight day to finish tied for seventh
with 154, making the
all-conference team a second straight year. Senior Mike Munoz
(Yucaipa, Calif.) fired 77 to total 156 for an 11th-place tie
and senior Sean Donnelly (Brampton, Ontario) carded 88 to close
the championship with 166. |
