Brad Corcoran (Mississauga, Ontario), who
has enjoyed a strong spring season for Long Island University,
today was
named Northeast Conference Men’s Golf Player of the Month.
Corcoran has been on a roll this spring with a 78.2 average
over nine rounds, including a pair of top 10 finishes. He has
broken 80 seven times this season.
Corcoran posted his first collegiate
victory by capturing the Lonnie Barton Invitational held March
12-13 in Hilton Head, S.C.
The 2004 All-NEC honoree opened with 75 for the first-round lead
and closed with 76 for a three-shot win. He also finished seventh
at the Fairfield Invitational held March 8-9 in Myrtle Beach,
S.C. that included an opening-round 74.
A four-year member of the squad, Corcoran has shot 157 each
of the last two tournaments. He fired 78 last Saturday and 79
on Sunday at the Drew Upton Towson Golf Classic in Westover,
Md.
The Blackbirds will be in action April 16-17
at the Mount St. Mary’s Tournament in Emmitsburg, Md. It is the team’s
final tournament before they look to defend their NEC title from
May 2-3 in Midway, Pa. |
