Nardi, Donohoue Join Lacrosse Coaching Staff

9/1/06 -- Long Island University Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach Regan Teti has announced the hiring of a pair of assistant coaches for the upcoming 2007 season. Jennifer Nardi joins the Blackbirds as an assistant coach, while Jessica Donohoue will serve as a graduate assistant coach.

Nardi spent the 2006 season as an assistant coach at Massachusetts after holding similar positions UC Berkeley and St. Mary’s (Calif.). The UMass graduate was an All-American goalkeeper and led the nation in save percentage (.644). In 2000, Nardi led the Minutewomen to the Atlantic 10 Championship and earned a spot on the A-10 All-Tournament Team.

Donohoue, a graduate of UC Davis, has prior coaching experience at her alma mater. She served as an assistant coach during the 2005 season. In her senior season, she tallied a career-high 25 goals and ranked among team leaders in ground balls and draw controls.

"We are very pleased to add Jennifer and Jessica to the staff," Teti said. "Their additions will help take this program to the next level."

The lacrosse team returns nine letterwinners from last year's squad that finished 5-12 overall, 3-5 in the Northeast Conference and narrowly missed a conference tournament berth by one game.
