4/26/07 --
Seniors Jackie McCormick (Liverpool, N.Y.) and Amy Rizzo (Jackson,
N.J.) were both named to the All-Northeast Conference Second
Team, as announced by the conference on Thursday evening.
For Rizzo, the selection marks
the fourth time in her career that she has earned all-league
honors. She was a first-team honoree as a freshman and a
junior, while also being named to the second team as a sophomore.
This season, the attacker led the league
in goals (51), while ranking third in points per game (4.00 ppg)
and ninth in assists (1.00 apg). She closed 15th in the nation
in goals per outing and 25th in points. Rizzo finished the year
with 68 points to lead the team and added 17 assists to her goal
total. The program’s all-time leading scorer with 185 goals,
Rizzo posted four or more goals on seven occasions this year,
including a seven-goal outing against Howard.
