McCormick Earn All-NEC Lacrosse Honors

-- Seniors Jackie McCormick (Liverpool, N.Y.) and Amy
Rizzo (Jackson, N.J.) were both named to the All-Northeast Conference
second team as announced by the conference on Thursday evening.
For Rizzo, the selection marks
the fourth time in her career that she has earned all-league
honors. McCormick earned
all-league lacrosse honors for the first time in her career
after setting
career-highs in nearly every category. The senior midfielder
is a former All-NEC First Team pick in women’s soccer,
but focused on lacrosse this season and led LIU with 24 assists.

The Long Island University lacrosse team received Intercollegiate
Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association Honor Squad
award. In order to be eligible for the honor, a team must have
a combined grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
The Blackbirds accumulated a 3.02 GPA as a team during the 2006-07
academic year.
