Long Island University freshman guard Jaytornah Wisseh
(Brooklyn, N.Y.) has been named the Choice Hotels/Northeast

average. The Brooklyn native shot 57.9 percent from the field
and added 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals in a pair
of games.
He opened the week with 11 points, a career-high seven rebounds,

Tuesday. On Friday at Sacred Heart, he exploded for a career-high
29 points, with six boards, two assists and two steals in an
80-72 setback. Wisseh went 7-of-11 from the floor and hit 13-of-16
from the foul line. His point total was a single-game high

since St. Francis (N.Y.)’s John Quintana scored 31 on
February 22, 2003.
On the season, Wisseh is averaging 8.3 points per game and
is leading the Blackbirds with 2.7 assists per game and 1.2
