Bryan Steele Named Northeast Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

1/10/06 -- Long Island University senior Bryan Steele (Gaithersburg, Md.) was named the Northeast Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.

The selection marks the fifth time that Steele has earned this accolade in his career.

The senior shattered the Armory’s 500-meter dash record in a time of 1:02.08 at the Fordham Invitational. The All-American Steele also established a new meet and school record enroute to earning the top male performer honors at the Invitational. The win qualifies Steele for the IC4A meet on March 4-5 in Boston, Mass.

The Blackbirds will continue their indoor track and field season on Friday, Jan. 13 at the NYC Gotham Cup in New York, N.Y.
