Floyd Mayne Closes Third in Steeplechase at Waterlogged Terrapin Invitational

4/2/05 -- Senior Floyd Mayne (Uniondale, N.Y.) finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for Long Island at the Terrapin Invitational in College Park, Md.

Mayne closed in 9:32.81, just eight seconds behind Shane Young of Georgetown. Mayne was the only Blackbird to compete as a majority of the meet was canceled due to rain.

LIU will compete Friday and Saturday at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C.
