Bryan Steele and Aisha Thomas Capture NEC Awards

12/11/04 -- Junior Bryan Steele (Gaithersburg, Md.) was named Northeast Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week and Aisha Thomas (Jefferson City, Mo.) was tabbed NEC Women’s Rookie of the Week.

Steele had an outstanding performance at the Seton Hall Games on Saturday, taking the crown in two events. He won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.32 seconds and was part of the 4x400-meter relay team, which won in 3:22.95. Steele also crossed the line in 7.05 seconds to take second place in the 60-meter dash. His times in the hurdles and dash are the best marks in the NEC this season.

Thomas had a strong outing, placing second in two events. She finished the 400-meter dash with an NEC-best time of 1:00.6 and was a member of the 4x400-meter relay squad that placed second in 4:01.51.
