Floyd Mayne finishes ninth for Cross Country at Quinnipiac Invitational

9/24/04 -- Senior Floyd Mayne (Uniondale, N.Y.) closed in ninth place for Long Island at the Quinnipiac Invitational in Hamden, Conn.

Mayne ran in 26:44 to pace the Blackbirds. Sophomore Craig Cocchio (Windsor, Ontario) was 13th in 27:09.5 and Gerardo Calixto finished 31st in 27:50.2.

Their efforts helped LIU closed the meet in sixth place with 209 points.

Junior Jaimie Smith (Burtonsville, Md.) paced the women's squad by running in 22:34.7 and junior Temi Akojie (Largo, Md.) closed in 22:36.5.
