9/24/05 -- Sophomore Martina Wagner (Friedrichshafen, Germany) led the Blackbirds attack with 11 kills, but it was not enough as Long Island (6-9) had its four-match winning streak halted by the University of Albany, 3-0 (30-23, 30-26, 30-25), on Saturday afternoon.

In a matchup of NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago, three Great Danes tallied double-figure kills, including 12 from America East Conference Co-Player of the Week Ashlee Reed. For the match, Albany outhit LIU .282 to .102.

Setters Ivana Vasiljevic and Flavia Sanches recorded 14 and 13 assists, respectively, for the Blackbirds.

Long Island will face host Fairfield in the final match of the Fairfield Invitational at 7 p.m.
