Volleyball Drops Heartbreaker to UC Irvine, 3-2

8/27/05-- Long Island University suffered a 3-2 set-back to UC Irvine Saturday at Crawford Court.

The Blackbirds (0-3) dropped the first game (27-30) before coming back in the second contest thanks to 21 kills and limiting the Anteasters to just 13.

Irvine posted a win (30-27)in the third game but LIU rebounded for a 30-27 victory in the fourth showing. LIU posted an 18-17 kills advantage in the victory.

LIU was led by Lizelle Jackson and Martina Wagner, who each put away 21 kills. Jackson led all players with 21 digs while setters Flavia Sanches and Ivana Vasiljevic had 34 and 26 assists, respectively.
