The triumph improves LIU’s record to 11-11 on the season.

Senior Lizelle Jackson (Palmdale, Calif.) tallied 10 kills. The Blackbirds tied a season-best .427 hitting percentage for the match, set earlier this season against Columbia.

Leading the first game, 11-10, LIU reeled off seven consecutive points to take command early. Jackson tallied three of the team’s four kills during the run, as the Blackbirds hit .444 for the game.

LIU was even more impressive in the second stanza, hitting .520 and holding SFPA to a dismal .042 percentage. The Blackbirds limited the Red Flash offense to a .143 hitting percentage on the afternoon.

Junior Flavia Sanches (Sorocabo, Brazil) was impressive off the bench in the third game, dishing out 10 assists to seal the win.
