10/28/06 -- The Long Island University volleyball team rebounded from a 3-1 loss to Pittsburgh and wrapped up its two-game Pennsylvania road trip with a 3-0 (30-21, 30-26, 30-16) win over Robert Morris to stay undefeated in Northeast Conference play. The win was the fifth straight conference win for the Blackbirds, who have not lost a single game in those matches.

Long Island (18-10, 5-0 NEC) had three players reach double figures in the kills category with Martina Wagner (Friedrichshafen, Germany) pacing her team with a game-high 16. Wagner entered the conference ranked 10th in the nation in kills per game and second in the nation in aces per game. The junior served up a pair of aces against the Colonials.

Juniors Trevon Dyson (Rock Hill, S.C.) and Shelby Heggie (Laramie, Wyo.) tallied 10 kills each. Freshman Svetlana Simic (Klek, Serbia) registered a game-high 11 digs.

The Colonials, who were led by Emily Wolthuis’ 10 kills, fell to 11-14 (1-2).

The Blackbirds will return home to host conference opponent Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 1:00 p.m.
