As a Sophomore in 2004: Stepped up her game in many facets as she was one of three for the Blackbirds named first team All-NEC… Became the school’s single-season digs leader with 587, ending the year third in the conference with 4.19 per game… Also was second in the NEC with 0.46 aces per game and sixth with 3.61 kills… Finished with 65 aces for the fourth-best single-season mark in school history and fifth with 505 kills… Paced LIU with 24 double-doubles, including streaks of eight straight (9/4 - 9/24) and seven in a row (10/5 - 10/16)… Named to three all-tournament teams; the Connecticut Invitational (9/10-11: 42 kills, 69 digs), the Chanticleer Classic (9/17-18: 45 kills, 53 digs), and the Hawk Challenge (10/1-2: 53 kills, 40 digs)… The only Blackbird to compete in all 140 games… Compiled 17 kills and 34 digs, including 20 digs in the final against Robert Morris (11/21), at the NEC Tournament to help the Blackbirds claim their first crown… Notched a career-best 24 kills along with 25 digs is a standout effort against Iona (10/9)… Posted at least 10 kills in 14 straight matches (9/25 - 10/23)… Had at least 20 digs on 11 occasions, including a career-best 31 at Connecticut (9/10)… Notched a season-high five aces against Wagner (11/4) and had four in four other matches… Named NEC Player of the Week (9/13).

As a Freshman in 2003:
Became one of LIU’s go-to players at the net, helping her to be named NEC Rookie of the Year and second team all-conference… Closed second for the Blackbirds with 309 kills, tied for the ninth-best single-season mark in school history… Finished 13th in the country with 0.63 aces per game (69) and was seventh in the NEC with 3.11 digs per game… The 69 aces put her in third place on the school’s single-season list… Recorded 12 double-doubles… Posted double figures in kills 17 times, including eight of the last 10 matches… Closed second for LIU against the NEC with 95 kills and first with 23 aces… Spiked a season-best 21 kills in addition to 19 digs in the NEC semifinals at Central Connecticut State (11/22)… Closed that match with a .472 hitting percentage (21 kills and four errors over 36 attacks)… Compiled a season-high 23 digs against Hofstra (9/10) and Fairleigh Dickinson (11/15)… Posted at least 11 digs each of her first six matches… Added six block assists vs. FDU (11/15)… Served a career-best six aces against Wagner (10/31) and FDU (11/22)… Had block solos against La Salle (9/2), Northeastern (9/26) and Robert Morris (10/18)… Dished four assists vs. Saint Peter’s (9/24) and Iona (11/5)… A five-time honoree as NEC Rookie of the Week (9/8, 9/15, 9/22, 10/20, 11/10).

High School/Personal:
Competed for Israel’s national team from 2000-03… Guided the team to a third-place finish at the 2002 European Championships as a libero… Also played for the state’s beach volleyball team… Paced Ostrovski to a first-place finish for her high school league in 2001 and second in 2000… Also in 2000, the team won the league’s junior cup… Competed for Israel at a camp in Japan… Full name is Dana Demayo… Born March 30, 1983… Majoring in Sports Psychology.
