10/16/05 -- Junior Allison Andreano (Denville, N.J.) scored an unassisted goal in the 17th minute as the Blackbirds dueled to a 1-1 draw at Mount St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon. The tie moves LIU to 8-5-1 on the season and 3-1-1 in Northeast Conference play.

Andreano's second goal of the season came from 20 yards out and found the top left corner of the net to open the scoring. The Blackbirds outshot The Mount, 13-7, in the game.

The Mount's Jenn Baker knotted the match at 1-1 in the 39th minute as her shot hit the bottom of the crossbar and slipped just inside the net for her fourth goal of the season.

Neither team could find much offense in the second half, sending the game into overtime. The Blackbirds carried play in the first overtime session, but were unable to convert on three corner kick opportunities.

In the second overtime, LIU had possession in the final minutes, but was unable to tally the game-winner.

Senior Jackie McCormick (Liverpool, N.Y.) recorded five shots for the Blackbirds, who are unbeaten in their last four games (3-0-1).

LIU continues its Northeast Conference schedule as they take on Monmouth on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 2:30 p.m. The match was originally scheduled for Friday, Oct. 14 but was rescheduled due to continued rain and poor field conditions.
