9/11/05 -- Long Island University dropped a 2-1 decision to Northeastern on Sunday afternoon, snapping their two-game winning streak

NU grabbed the early lead in the 28th minute, as Caitlin Whelan scored to give the Huskies a 1-0 advantage. Northeastern outshot LIU, 7-2, in the first half.

The Blackbirds (3-2) battled back in the second stanza, as Allison Andreano's header on a cross from Meghann McCormick tied the match at the 56:18 mark.

Long Island keeper Felicia Amaral finished the game with five saves.

The Blackbirds look to rebound on Friday, as they travel to Corvallis, Ore. to face the Oregon State Beavers in the OSU Nike Invitational.
