Hanson Scores Game-Winner as Blackbirds Defeat Robert Morris, 1-0, in OT

10/15/06 -- Freshman Aly Hanson (New Milford, N.J.) posted her seventh goal of the season to lift Long Island University to a 1-0 overtime triumph at Robert Morris in Northeast Conference women’s soccer action.

The Blackbirds improve to 8-7-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the NEC.

Senior Ashley O’Connor (Pittsburgh, Pa.) delivered a free kick in the 94th minute which Hanson headed home for the victory. The goal was Hanson’s second game-winner of the fall.

LIU continues its swing of western Pennsylvania on Sunday, Oct. 22, traveling to St. Francis (PA) for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
