Women's Soccer Earns 2-0 Road Victory at St. Francis (Pa.)

10/22/06 -- Senior Lizelle Jackson (Burbank, Calif.) scored for the third time this season and classmate Allison Andreano (Denville, N.J.) added an insurance tally and an assist to lift Long Island University to a 2-0 victory over St. Francis (Pa.) on Sunday afternoon.

The win lifts the Blackbirds to a 6-1 mark in Northeast Conference play and an 9-7-1 ledger overall.

Jackson tallied the eventual game-winner in the 10th minute, a rebound shot into the right corner. Andreano and senior Christine Gans (Pittsburgh, Pa.) teamed for the second score off a corner kick. The assist was the eighth of the fall for Gans, tying the LIU single-season record.

After beginning the season winless on the road (0-6), the Blackbirds have gone undefeated (4-0) in league games.

LIU, seeded number two in the current NEC standings, hosts league leader Monmouth on Friday, Oct. 27 at 6:00 p.m.
