4/9/06 -- The women's tennis team turned in another dominant performance in a 7-0 shutout of Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday afternoon.

LIU dropped only three games the entire day, sweeping through singles with a 6-0 record while taking the doubles point, 3-0.

Senior Jessica Loose (Scheessel, Germany) was victorious at No. 1 singles and paired with fellow classmate Krystina Bachner (Penfield, N.Y.) for a win at the top doubles spot.

At No. 4 singles, freshman Ashley Harvey (Randallstown, Md.) picked up her 13th consecutive singles victory and did not lose a game for the second match in a row. Harvey also won her doubles match, teaming with junior Merve Koksal (Ankara, Turkey) for the 8-0 triumph.

The Blackbirds face Southern Mississippi on Tuesday, April 11 in a non-conference match scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
