Women's Tennis Advances to Semifinals of Northeast Conference Tournament With 5-0 Victory over Robert Morris |

Sophomore Ashley Harvey (Randallstown, Md.) and senior Merve Koksal (Ankara, Turkey) each won their singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively. Koksal also paired with sophomore Liliana Cortes (Cochabamba, Bolivia) to win at No. 1 doubles, 8-2. Due to the Colonials forfeiting the fifth and sixth singles matches and the third doubles position, LIU won 5-0. H'Ann Johnson (St. John's, Antigua) and Cortes were each leading their singles matches when play was halted. The second-seeded Blackbirds will face No. 3 Mount St. Mary's in the semifinals at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday after the Mountaineers shutout Monmouth, 6-0, in another quarterfinal. Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart will square off in the other semifinal with the winners to play for the championship and the right to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
