The Long Island University women's tennis team dropped its seventh straight decision,
a 6-1 defeat, to St. John's on Monday afternoon.
Sophomore Liliana Cortes (Cochabamba,
Bolivia) won at the No. 4 singles spot for the second consecutive
match, getting past Lauren Leo, 6-4, 6-3. Classmate Amy Hosotsuji
(Toronto, Ontario) had a strong second set for the Blackbirds
at No. 6 singles, and had two set points but could not break through.

competition on Friday, April 13 against Fairleigh Dickinson. Results
