Brooklyn Small Business Information and Education Day at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus February 27 -- Free and Open to the Public --
Brooklyn, N.Y. – On Friday, February 27, Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus is hosting Brooklyn Small Business Information and Education Day. The daylong information fair, with representatives from public, private and nonprofit sectors, is co-sponsored by the School of Business, Public Administration and Information Sciences, the office of the Internal Revenue Service Stateholder Liaison, and Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez.
Brooklyn Small Business Information and Education Day will be held in the Arnold & Marie Schwartz Gymnasium on the Brooklyn Campus, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, February 27. The Campus is located in downtown Brooklyn, on the corner of DeKalb and Flatbush avenues. The event is free and open to the public.
More than 50 exhibitors from civic associations, government agencies, financial institutions and community-based organizations will provide information, including Business Solutions Center of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, New York City Department of Consumer Affairs, U.S. Small Business Administration, and Workshop in Business Opportunities. The day will include free seminars and workshops on business planning and franchising, tax compliance, retirement planning for business owners and related issues.
“The small business community will be given access to the largest network of government organizations and private institutions for support and guidance at all levels,” said School of Business Dean Mohammed Ghriga. “The mobilization of these resources and the free seminars/workshops offered will provide a fresh outlook to business planning for flexibility and agility to adapt to the current conditions of the economy.”
The School of Business at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including master’s degrees in business administration and public administration.
