With Audience Participation, Hunter Performance Group Dances
at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus, April 8

Brooklyn, N.Y. – The Dance Department at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus will showcase the talents of dance majors, as well as the electrifying works of Hunter Performance Group, in concerts in April at the Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts.

The Kumble Theater is located at the Brooklyn Campus in downtown Brooklyn, on the corner of Dekalb and Flatbush avenues.

Hunter Performance Group
Founded by Whitney V. Hunter in 2000, the dance company displays emotional electricity, conveying life stories through the art of movement. “The Game Show!” is an audience participatory, lecture/demonstration performance. There is one host, one dance, and three teams. The teams are made up of one company performer and one audience participant. The objective of “The Game Show” is to encourage critical viewing and making of art by young participants. Free

Dance Department Spring Concert
Dance majors perform an exciting program of modern dance works by guest artists Nathan Trice and Alexandra Beller, and a restaging of a historic dance work by master choreographer Laura Dean. Tickets: $15 general admission/$10 students and seniors with ID

“Afternoons at LIU” is a series of free concerts, supported by grants from Target, the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation, the Provost’s Office and in part, by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by the Brooklyn Arts Council, Inc.
